About us

 Ben was a solicitor in private practice for over 20 years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was a tax partner.

Mel was a solicitor in the IP/commercial team at Freshfields for over 25 years – as an associate and a professional support lawyer. 

We both spent a lot of time editing other lawyers’ first drafts, and we saw the same problems coming up time and again. 

We decided to write a series of drafting guides and to give training around the firm – for lawyers and for business services teams. 

We now provide training and coaching for law-firms, in-house legal teams, universities and individuals.
